Round up your girlfriends because I’m about to give you SO MANY REASONS to take a day trip to the coast! Keep reading if you’re ready to plan your girls day in Laguna Beach.

Try to get into town early to avoid traffic and to snag a parking spot. For this day trip you’ll park once and walk short distances to each location (overall you will walk less than 1.5 miles). If you want to keep a change of clothes or other necessities in your car, you’ll always be within short range of it. I listed the address for parking (and for every stop) all at the end of this post.

Have breakfast with a view.

Park and walk across the street to a shopping center known as Laguna Village and start your day off with breakfast at The Cliff. Check in with the hostess first and if you have a wait, there are a bunch of cute boutique shops to browse. While enjoying the up-close ocean views, order a Bloody Mary and try the chilaquiles – they’re delicious! I also recommend the açai bowl.

Get your aura photographed!

Work off that breakfast and start walking south on PCH to The Chakra Shack. This is a cute, spiritual shop that will PHOTOGRAPH YOUR AURA! Yes, that’s a thing. Their special studio will capture the colors of your aura and you’ll leave with a head shot and a personalized analysis! It might be a good idea to call ahead if you have a large group. Walk & Shop.

Start walking back (north) on PCH and peruse some shops and galleries along the way. A few of my favorites are Arrow & Branch for home decor, Merrilee’s Swimwear for all the trendiest clothing, and The Grace Galleries – whose walls boast artwork by 22 different artists.

Enjoy lunch in a historic building.

After all that walking and shopping you’ll have an appetite by now. You’ve gotta try Rum Social! This 2-story restaurant and bar is situated in one of Laguna’s oldest buildings. The ambiance is compared to an upscale speakeasy. Pops of pink and touches of tropical will make you feel like you’re on vacation! They specialize in craft cocktails and Caribbean-fusion dishes. I highly recommend calling ahead for reservations during summer months.

Create your own signature perfume.

Continue your girls day in Laguna Beach by enjoying a one-of-a-kind experience at The Fragrance Boutique! You will be amazed by the 750 fragrance vials lining the walls. Take a seat at the fragrance bar and answer a short questionnaire. This will help your perfumer assist you in creating your very own special scent!

Get your feet wet.

Head over to Main Beach and walk along the boardwalk to people watch, view the historic lifeguard tower, dip your toes in the water, or get comfortable and relax on the warm sand.

Wander the Forest Avenue Promenade.

This once-average street has been transformed into a pedestrian paradise! It’s worth wandering around and stopping by Tuvalu for beachy home decor, Sunny Days for clothing and gifts, or Temecula Olive Oil Company for tastings and culinary delights.

Catch the sunset on a rooftop.

Finish the day with dinner at Skyloft, a multi-level restaurant and bar. My favorite appetizer is the amazing ceviche and I’m obsessed with the Cajun pasta! The Skyloft rooftop has an impressive 360 degree view of Laguna Beach and the best part is watching the gorgeous sunset over the ocean. I highly recommend calling ahead for reservations during summer months.

If you just aren’t ready to call it quits, finish your girls day in Laguna Beach by hanging out at Marine Room for live music, dancing, games, billiards, and a cozy fireplace.
