Laguna Beach, California has somewhere around 30 named beaches along 7 miles of coastline. That’s a lot of options to choose from! Rather than head to Main Beach, try a lesser known beach for a different experience! As the weather gets hotter, there’s nothing quite like an exhilarating swim in the crisp Pacific, you’ve gotta try it! Here are my top 5 favorite swimming spots in Laguna Beach.

The Best Swimming Spots in Laguna Beach
#1 Crescent Bay

Crescent Bay has an appealing way of making you feel like you’re in a secluded cove, yet the beach is large enough for everybody! This is my favorite beach to swim at because it’s a large, protected cove. That means the waves are usually mellow which is amazing if you’re like me and not excellent at swimming past them. The water is literally always clear and free of rockiness. There’s epic snorkeling to the north and south ends. On top of it all, there are bathrooms & showers.

#2 Shaws Cove

I might get in trouble for mentioning this one but this is where locals tend to hang. You feel safe swimming here because it’s enclosed and not wide open. It’s an amazing beach to swim at for all the same reasons as Crescent Bay, but there are no bathrooms.

#3 Goff Cove (Goff Island Beach)

Just north of the popular Treasure Island park and beach, this one makes the list because of the sparkling clear water and the tide pools! Goff Cove is maintained by the Montage hotel so you can be sure it’s always clean and safe. If you have kids this is a great choice because the shoreline is so calm and there are bathrooms nearby at the park.

#4 Victoria Beach

This is one of the more open beaches on my list. Sometimes the waves can be a little rough but when the conditions are right, the water is pristine and inviting. Victoria Beach is large enough for everybody, there are no sneaky, hidden rocks along the shoreline or in the water, and it’s home of the sought-after Pirate’s Tower! These reasons make it one of my favorite swimming spots in Laguna Beach.

#5 Pearl Street Beach

Walking down the stairs to Pearl Street Beach gives you an advantageous view of this stunning area. This beach is the southern-most point of a long strip and it feels a little private being all the way at the end. My favorite part about swimming at Pearl Street Beach is when you’re out in the water, the view looking back towards the coastline is beautiful!
