One of my favorite things to do is dine out. I seriously love food and when I’m on vacation, you better believe I’m eating all the food from all the restaurants! My boyfriend and I visited Catalina Island in January. It was the dead of winter, a lot of shops were closed, the streets and beaches were empty, and we had the greatest time! But rather than give you a rundown of things to do on Catalina Island (there are plenty of other sources for that) I’m here to tell you about some excellent places to EAT on Catalina Island!

Places To Eat On Catalina Island

Luau Larry’s

This is a lively, tiki-style bar and restaurant just steps from the shoreline. They’re famous for their Wiki Wacker drink that comes with a festive straw hat! The staff is upbeat and the menu is extensive so you have to check it out yourself.

Coyote Joe’s

A must-visit if you want some epic Mexican food! I had the best asada fries I’ve had in years. The taco’s were also delicious, the music was fun, the service was friendly, and the whole energy was great.

Pete’s Plaza Cafe

Pete’s isn’t really a restaurant but a pop-up Mexican stand with amazing breakfast. You can eat your food outdoors under their canopy or take it to-go and eat by the water a short walk away.

The Lobster Trap

This restaurant was highly recommended by our hotel staff. This restaurant has a large and unpretentious dining room that’s great for big groups or families. The spiny lobster was super flavorful and we were impressed by the decent prices. .

Buffalo Nickel

Here’s another restaurant that visitors don’t usually find because it’s not on the main strip. They’re family friendly, have a HUGE menu, delicious drinks, and breakfast on weekends. We called a taxi to get here but you can also rent a golf cart.

The Naughty Fox

Located in the Bellanca hotel, this is a bright and classy restaurant for the pickiest of diners. Come for the fancy cocktails, American dishes, and stunning ocean views.

The Sandtrap

This is a great spot if you want to hang with some locals. It’s a little out of the way so most visitors don’t stumble upon it. The Sandtrap is known for their generous portions and they have a nice outdoor seating area.
